Maluhia Workshop Convenes Senior Officials for Strategic Collaboration

The recent Maluhia 2023 workshop focused on building a better understanding of strategic policy in the region. Thirty-seven senior officials from countries within and outside the Indo-Pacific region gathered at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) in Honolulu, Hawaii, from April 25-27 to achieve this goal. A New Workshop Aims to Modernize the Indo-Pacific’s Security Architecture

A new workshop, "Adapting Alliances, Partnerships, and Regional Security Architecture," hosted by the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS), aims to modernize the security architecture in the Indo-Pacific. From February 6-10, 24 mid-level officials from 13 nations and three regional organizations participated in the workshop. Faculty and senior leadership from the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies traveled to Thailand in July to participate in the Senior Security Studies Program hosted by the Royal Thai Armed Forces’ Strategic Studies Center of the National Defence Studies Institute.  The intensive one-week course for senior Thai security sector leaders, held in Bangsaen, Chonburi, emphasized the impact of change in the region as well as the capacity to manage change for both leaders and institutions. Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) provided subject matter expertise to the Southeast Asia Maritime Law Enforcement Initiative (SEAMLEI) Coast Guard Commander’s Forum, which took place from April 4-7 in Tumon, Guam. The U.S. and Philippine Coast Guards hosted the annual forum, which serves to enhance regional stability by promoting maritime safety, security cooperation, coordination and information sharing. Center Rolls Out First Senior Fellow Workshop 21-1

The Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) rolled out a new virtual workshop called the Senior Fellow Workshop (SFW) 21-1, and was held from June 22-24.
